Embellished jeans 2.0

Do you remember my post about DIY embellished jeans? (If not check it out here). Well, I finally finished mine!! Only did the front though, didn't have enough do make the back.

And yes, I chose do to studs instead of pearls. I love it. What do you think?

Some pictures of my re-decorated room. Using your old magazine as a side table is pretty nice actually, so try it yourselves :) Today I bought ELLE UK, need to get some inspiration for the fall (which is basically here now..).

I wanted to tell you guys about my favorite magazine EVER. It's called Styleby and the fashionista Elin Kling is behind it.

I've read it since issue one, and i just fell in love immediately. In a magazine, you usually have your favorite parts.. and well some parts you never even look at. I always read the whole magazine from cover to cover. Well worth the money! Might be a little hard to read it in swedish but you can just hope that they decide to do styleby in english too!

Is your phone a fashion accessory?

I actually think the title says it all, Do you think your phone is a fashion accessory? Do you change skins/cases so they match your outfit?Even though I buy some cases, I never change after what I'm wearing.

Bigger brands like Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff and Diane von Furstenberg all sell different cases. It seems like just like fashion trends, there are now trends for your phone too (I mean, the bunny-ears case, hello?).  How do you feel about your smartphone? Is it an accessory or a technology item?

Stockholm Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm begins August 27th and ends the 29th. Brands like J.Lindeberg, ALTEWAISAOME, Hope, The Local Firm and more are showing their Summer/Spring 2013 collection. I'm not going to pretend I've got an invite to a show, but I still look forward to seeing pictures/videos from some labels.

Cheap Monday
Not only do I love their jeans, they always have useable pieces in their collections. I look forward most to see what they have to bring. You can only count on them to make a show, because the runway show is always at an unusual place. This year it's in a skatepark, which made me asume that it was open for the public, but it's not. :(  S/S12



Dagmar
Every season I have cravings for almost everything they put on the runway. They have amazing sweaters and cardigans! I just love this brand. S/S 12



Whyred
The brand is very classic with clean lines, and they have lovely dresses. They've used a lot of earthy colors past collections, which is easy to match with other pieces. S/S 12

Pink vanilia - fashion designer?

In school last year we had this project where we were acting fashion designers! The assignment was to design a tank top/t-shirt for H&M that was confident boosting. I choose the sentence "Smile, because you're beautiful". Later on, we got to print it on tank tops! Under you can see the result.

What do you think? Does pink vanilia fit as a fashion designer haha? ;)

I literally just found out about a clothing label from London, England called The Original Skin. Every season they create what themselves call "though provoking, eye catching clothing" and this season Nostalgia has landed! It has four fabulous mens t-shirts, but who says women can't pull it off too?

Pattern play

Going to a outside cinema today with a couple of friends! The movie shown is "Let the right one in" (but the swedish version). 

I'm wearing pants from Bikbok and a sweater from Monki. And accessorizing it with curls in a ponytail a la Lauren Conrad. Have a great day/evening!

Cheap or expensive - what do you choose?

This is an issue i've been thinking about for a while. Should I buy the cheap or the expensive t-shirt / makeup / shoes / jewelry. Well i've come to the conclusion that in the long run, you'll save more by buying the little (or a lot) expensive item. Here's why.

First off, nailpolish. Left: from a magazine Right: Lancome

I've had the Lancome polish a long time (probably too long) while i've had the other since june. The lancome one is easier to applicate (it's not dry!) and it looks better on the nails. After this experience i've learned that cheap nail polish will end up in the garbage within 3 months. I'm going to start buy often used colors (red, black) from Chanel, Lancome and such while crazy fun polish from cheap brands.

The purple one costs five times more than the pink one. I got the purple one around 3 years ago and the pink maybe.. a year or less. The pink one has stopped now. And the purple one's still working. No need to explain more. 

Two similar bags. The left one from Sicily and the right one from a Guess store in Miami. The LV copy was bought in june, while the Guess one.. 6 years ago? 

This is how the LV copy looks after a month of use. 

I think you'll save more money by buying ONE expensive item that's timeless and usable instead of wasting your money on for example 50 cheap bags. 

Other things I think you should buy expensive: white tank tops/t-shirt, headphones, wallets.

The battle of the hair oils

Which oil is better: Moroccanoil or Orofluido? I'll give you my opinion with a simple test.

Moroccanoil: 100 ml, 359 kr / €321 / $51
Orofluido: 100 ml, 279 kr/ €250 / $40
Winner: Orofluido

SCENT
Moroccanoil has a more deep perfume scent while Orofluido smells like vanilla. Winner: Orofluido.

USAGE
Orofluido is not as watery as Moroccanoil, which makes it easier to take the amount needed. I feel like I always get too much from Moroccanoil which makes my hair a little oily. Winner: Orofluido

Moroccanoil: 0 Orofluido: 3

Well, it's kind of obvious which one I think is better. Do you think the same? Have you tried any of these? What were your experiences?

Note that I didn't bring up if it works or not since everyones hair is different.

BIKBOK FALL12/
